04:45 AM
We will begin the Full Day Rainbow Mountain Tour from Cusco by picking you up from your hotel at 0400 AM. Then in our private transport, we will be embarking on a journey through the South Valley of Cusco to Cusipata. Here we will be serving breakfast.
After a typical local breakfast, we will be driving you to the trail head. We will be stopping at a control point before reaching the trail head. Once at the trailhead, our guide will brief you on the safety measures to trek to Rainbow Mountain.
The two and a half hour trek to the summit begins, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Due to the high altitude, we strongly advise spending at least three days in Cusco to acclimatize and avoid altitude sickness.
During the trek, you’ll pass through picturesque high-altitude farms, where you’ll see llamas and alpacas grazing. If you’re not comfortable hiking, you can opt for a horseback ride for an additional fee around $30 USD.
Once at the summit, our guide will share the mountain’s significance to the local community. You’ll have ample time to soak in the captivating views, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike further to the red valley.
After you have fully enjoyed the stunning views of the Andes, we will begin our descent back to the trailhead. Following that, we will take you to a nearby restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will return to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of 6:30 PM.
