We will be picking you up from Iquitos Peru Airport or Hotel and will be transferring you and embark on a drive to the Port town of Nanay also known as Bellavista. This is the place where the Nanay River meets the Amazon River.
Here, we will be embarking on a 70 kilometers boat ride down the river for two hours. During this short ride, you will have plenty of possibilities for spotting turtles, caimans, herons, and many other things.
We will then reach our jungle lodge where our crew will be serving a delicious Amazon lunch.
After lunch, we will be visiting Monkey Island. It is a tiny island some 15 minutes off our lodge. It is home to different breeds of monkeys. You will be seeing them in their natural habitat.
The region is popular among Goeldi’s monkeys, Capuchin monkey, Masked Titi Monkey, Wooly Monkey, Cebidae Monkey, and more.
The island is also home to Boas, large Anacondas which you can see at a close distance. You will also have the opportunity to see the distinct Amazonian Mata Mata turtle.
Once you have had your fill of Monkey Island, we will do some Pink freshwater Dolphin spotting. You can also swim with them.
We will then return to the lodge for dinner. Our crew will be serving you a traditional meal. After dinner, we will be doing a nocturnal hike. On this guided hike, you will get to see lizards, and spiders among other creatures.
After this, we will be returning to the lodge.
