The five days Iquitos Peru Amazon Tours is the most popular tour from the city of Iquitos. Accompanied by a local English-speaking Naturalist tour guide, you will be getting an insight into the Wildlife and traditions of indigenous local communities living deep in the Amazon Rainforest.
This action-packed five-day tour is designed to offer you the best of the Peruvian Amazon. The region is home to some distinct flora and fauna which you will be seeing in their natural habitat. To enhance your experience, we will be spending a night camping amidst the jungle in a watchtower in Palo Alto.
You will be sailing to our remote Amazon lodge in a traditional canoe. This is an experience on its own as you will be spotting many pink dolphins swimming in the clear waters of the Amazon River.

Iquitos Airport / Hotel Transfer

We will be picking you up from Iquitos Peru Airport or Hotel and will be transferring you and embark on a drive to the Port town of Nanay also known as Bellavista. This is the place where the Nanay River meets the Amazon River.
Here, we will be embarking on a 70 kilometers boat ride down the river for two hours. During this short ride, you will have plenty of possibilities for spotting turtles, caimans, herons, and many other things.
We will then reach our jungle lodge where our crew will be serving a delicious Amazon lunch.
After lunch, we will be visiting Monkey Island. It is a tiny island some 15 minutes off our lodge. It is home to different breeds of monkeys. You will be seeing them in their natural habitat.
The region is popular among Goeldi’s monkeys, Capuchin monkey, Masked Titi Monkey, Wooly Monkey, Cebidae Monkey, and more.
The island is also home to Boas, large Anacondas which you can see at a close distance. You will also have the opportunity to see the distinct Amazonian Mata Mata turtle.
Once you have had your fill of Monkey Island, we will do some Pink freshwater Dolphin spotting. You can also swim with them.
We will then return to the lodge for dinner. Our crew will be serving you a traditional meal. After dinner, we will be doing a nocturnal hike. On this guided hike, you will get to see lizards, and spiders among other creatures.
After this, we will be returning to the lodge.
Our second day of Iquitos Rainforest Tour begins at daybreak. After relishing a traditional breakfast, we will be embarking on a boat ride to spot the Animals in the Amazon Jungle. You will also get to see the flora and fauna that are distinct to the region.
Later in the afternoon, after lunch, we will be sailing back on the Amazon river to fish piranhas and catfishes. We will then continue our boat ride to see Victoria Reiga. It is the largest freshwater aquatic plant on earth.
We will then stop to witness the sunset and return to the lodge for dinner. Later in the evening, we will be doing a short excursion to see caimans. You will be getting a closer look at them. In fact, you will even be able to hold them and take plenty of photos.
We will then return to the lodge.
After relishing a typical Amazonian breakfast, we will embark on a 45 minutes hike to Palo Alto Viewpoint.
This three storey watchtower houses different observation decks at each level. From the top of the tower, you will be getting a birds-eye view of the lowland Amazon Rainforest.
After witnessing the jungle, we will embark on a short canoe ride where you will have the option of fishing some piranhas. We will be visiting many untouched Amazon lagoons in the vicinity of Palo Alto.
Our base for the day will be Palo Alto. So we will be returning for lunch here.
After lunch, we will be doing a short hike to spot different birds and animals. Later in the evening, after witnessing the sunset, we will be returning to the lodge for Dinner. We will then do a short night tour to spot some nocturnal animals and spiders.
Once you have had your fill of this, we will be returning to Palo Alto Tower. We will be camping on the top floor for the night.
We will begin the day quite early in the morning. After breakfast, we will leave the lodge to see the Sunrise. We will then embark on a short boat ride to a local village. Here you will be introduced to their daily life and traditions.
We will then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, we will be visiting different lagoons and tributaries in the proximity of our Eco Lodge. Here you can enjoy different activities like canoe rides, fishing, and animal spotting. You can also take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the Amazon River.
After witnessing the sunset, we will be returning to the lodge. Our crew will be serving you a delicious Amazonian dinner.
Later in the evening, we will be doing a short guided tour where you will be able to spot different nocturnal creatures.
We will return to the lodge after this activity.
We will be leaving early in the morning after relishing a traditional breakfast. On this short guided tour with our local expert, we will be spotting different species of monkeys among other animals in their natural habitat.
We will then return to the lodge and will be checking out. While travelling back to Iquitos city, we will be having a couple of stops. We will be visiting
Our guide will also explain different plants that are distinct to the region.
We will then check out from the lodge and sail back to Iquitos City.
Here, we will be visiting a local native tribe. On this short guided tour, you will be getting an insight into their traditions and customs.
We will then stop by our office before transferring you to the airport or hotel in Iquitos.
